One of your best opportunities to enhance your public speaking skills is attendance at a Toastmasters conference. Your next opportunity is the District 27 Fall Conference, which will be held from November 10 to 11 in Arlington, Virginia.
This year you have an even better reason to register for the Fall Conference: A Top 10 finalist in the World Championship of Public Speaking® will keynote this event. Top 10 finalist Katina Hunter (2016 and 2017 World Championship of Public Speaking contests) will speak at three sessions during the Fall Conference at the Hyatt Centric in Arlington.
During her first address, Hunter will provide an educational session on how to use positioning on stage to boost audience impact. In her second session, Hunter will give a keynote address on increasing your speech evaluation skills. In her third talk, Hunter will give a keynote address on the obstacles and opportunities Toastmasters face as they strive toward their aspirations, including successful speeches in the World Championship of Public Speaking.
The Fall Conference will also include a workshop on storytelling and the Humorous Speech and Speech Evaluation contests. It’s a great opportunity to network with other people who aim to boost their public speaking IQ. The Fall Conference’s theme is Shine! Shout! Share! and you can register now.
Jay Krasnow (ACG/ALB) is the District 27 Public Relations Manager and a member of Challenger Toastmasters, which meets at Asahi Restaurant in Courthouse Plaza (2500 Clarendon Blvd., Suite G), Arlington, VA, at 7 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday of the month.
