How many times since February have you “talked up” Toastmasters? Probably way more than you realize. The minute you invited guests to attend your club, the minute you told others about the benefits your Toastmasters club gives you, the minute you spoke with someone about why they should join…you talked up Toastmasters.
As District 27 Club Growth Director Robin Hylton, DTM explained, “‘Talk Up Toastmasters’ membership building campaign runs through March 31, 2018. Clubs adding five new members receive a ribbon for the club banner and 10 percent off next Toastmasters International order.”
As a way to cast a spotlight on new membership, the membership program encourages members to host a special meeting during which invited guests can learn about Toastmasters. In District 27, we have worked to spread the word about increasing membership and Hylton made a point to encourage all officers that attended Toastmasters Leadership Institute events to take part in ‘Talk Up Toastmasters’ as one method to increase their membership rosters.
Act now – tally the new, dual or reinstated members you welcomed to your club during the last month. Toastmasters International may contact your club within a few weeks to let you know that you successfully “Talked Up Toastmasters” and reward you for your hard work.
