Uncovering the Forgotten '90s Gem: Queens Logic

However, this Windy City influence also adds an unexpected twist to a story set in Queens, New York.
Directed by Steve Rash, Queens Logic showcases his talent for capturing cultural authenticity. Having lived in Astoria, Queens, I can attest to the film's accurate portrayal of the borough's vibrancy. Rash's attention to detail is commendable, and the actors' commitment to their roles is undeniable. However, the script itself falls short, lacking the humor and depth needed to elevate the film to greatness.
Mantegna's character, for instance, fails to deliver the comedic impact intended. Olin and Webb's performances are heartwarming, but their limited screen time leaves viewers wanting more. And while Bacon's performance is solid, it pales in comparison to Timothy Hutton's portrayal of a similar character in 'Beautiful Girls'.
In my opinion, Queens Logic is a missed opportunity. It has all the ingredients for a memorable comedy—a stellar cast, a talented director, and a unique setting. Yet, it fails to leave a lasting impression. The film is enjoyable while it lasts, but its impact fades quickly. For Bacon fans, 'Tremors' remains the superior choice for a rewatch.
